Climate change
Biodiversity loss
Ocean acidification
Plastic pollution

I am an environmental scientist passionate about communicating environmental science research into these issues and more, especially to children and young people. I currently develop and deliver climate change workshops in primary and secondary schools across Cornwall and West Devon, using the excellent environmental communication skills I gained whilst working as an education officer in a zoo and as a volunteer engaging with children and young people about ocean conservation.

Working with conservation and climate change charities has given me first-hand experience of how children and young people can become inspired to learn more about the problems faced by our planet through engagement and learning. This increased my belief that if increased knowledge about scientific research into environmental problems and possible solutions was given to children in an age-appropriate way, they may be more likely to seek out further information.

I believe that increased knowledge, gained through engaging and fun experiences, encourages environmental connection in our future policy makers, business leaders and innovators, and inspires a sense of hope to motivate action and take steps to make positive changes, however small, from a young age to protect our incredible planet and those who call it home.

So many problems faced by our wonderful planet -  we need to talk about them more and this is my mission!
